Every year we update our club fees inline with the BMC's membership change. Below we will outline our membership fees for 2025 and why they have changed.
Over the last year the BMC have had to make difficult decisions and adjustments to ensure they are functioning within their means, for the BMC’s long-term sustainability and ability to maximise their support to members.
This has meant that the BMC has had to increase their membership fees by a larger amount for 2025 than in previous years.
To read why these changes have been made in more detail please read the British Mountaineering Council 2025 membership fee update here.
We are aware that the LGBTQ+ community are often affected strongly by finacial factors and we always try our best to minimise the impact of club fees on our members.
We have to pass on the BMC fees to our members as paying these continues the support for the club and our members that the BMC provides. Read more about the clubs and members benefits here.
For the past 2 years we have also asked member for a voluntary top up on the BMC fees. This voluntary top up provides the club with a small pot of money that we can use to support any costs that the club might need to cover and support our members.
We have suggested a 11.5% top up as this creates a nice round amount however members can pay more or less than this as they need to. We always welcome any financial support we can get but we do not expect this.
These fees were proposed at our 2024 AGM and voted in by a majority of members.
If you have any worries or questions about these please speak to any of the Committee or email us at hello@climbing.lgbt
